Joseph Allen Myers

Specializing in graphite (pencil) works. Joseph has shown in many group exhibitions throughout Kentucky, including:
- IMAGES OF KENTUCKY (1995) where his drawing of a Farmall tractor was named a second place winner along with the Peoples Choice award in a juried competition sponsored by the Central Kentucky Art Guild.
- In 1996 he was awarded first place in the drawing category at both the Kentucky State Fair fine art exhibition (Louisville) and the Hardin County Fair.
- In June of 1996, in a juried group exhibition held at the Woodland Gallery in Elizabethtown , Joseph was awarded third place.
- Juried group exhibition in April of 1998 at the Woodland Gallery in Elizabethtown, Joseph was awarded with an honorable mention.
- Experimenting with the use of oils in 1999, Joseph was awarded with an honorable mention at a fine art exhibit held at the Mezzanine Gallery at First Federal Savings Bank in Elizabethtown.
- Morrison Gallery at Elizabethtown (Ky.) Community and Technical College held a juried fine art exhibit in 2000, presented by the Central Kentucky Art Guild, in which Joseph experimented with acrylics on paper. This show garnered a second place win for him.
- 2004 at the Heartland Regional Art exhibit in the First Federal Gallery at the Historic State Theater Complex in Elizabethtown (Ky)
His work may be found in private collections across the country.
In his professional work, Myers draws his creativity from many sources and his work reflects this multiformity of interests with subject ranging from portraits, still lifes, wildlife and abstract, to surrealism.
